Jones Lang LaSalle Dirty Tricks Campaign Backfires

Information and facts about the Kent Science Park and the LaSalle's Dirty Tricks Campaign

Kent Science Park Dirty Tricks

Jones Lang LaSalle has refused to acknowledge that statements accusing the Five Parishes Opposition Group of campaigning to the close the park are untruthful. The comments which coincidently appeared during last year’s public consultation on the parks future did not influence public opinion with 93% opposing the large scale expansion of the park.

Some facts about the failure of the Kent Science Park to live up to its hype

  1. Failed to create the 500 news jobs promised in 2008
  2. Failed to build the new arrivals building for which the planning application has now expired
  3. Failed to build the phase 2 technology units applied for in 2008
  4. Failed to make a start on urgently needed expansion outside the security fence applied for in 2008
  5. Failed to build the bio-accelerator units promised following a grant of £1.3 million from the government.
  6. Failed to make a go of the Kent Science Park resource centre who's publically financed assets were quickly sold to Kent University who then took over the running of the unit
  7. Kent Science Park have created on average 25 jobs per annum over the last 8 years
  8. Kent Science Park accounts for just 2% of Swale's economy.

James Speck's false claims

James Speck, Kent Science Park

James Speck, LaSalle's Site Director for the Kent Science Park has written to all tenants, claiming the Five Parishes Opposition Group (FPOG) "alarmingly..wish us closed" - a claim the group adamantly denies.

His letter continued: "This wish directly threatens the livelihood and future of the 1,190 people already working at the park and those of the community who will be in the job market in years to come."

Mr Speck goes on to describe the group's attitude as "deplorable".

Local residents who were polled wanted James Speck to resign, however to this day James Speck has neither appologised or offered any explanation of these entirely false claims.
